About

All Hail The Trail is a website dedicated to the world of trail running with a focus on race reports, gear reviews, recipies and any other running thoughts!

I’m a late starter in the running world starting around June 2014, but this soon developed into an all encompassing activity.  I spent 2015 building around the 10km-half marathon distance but soon knew I wanted to take this further. 2016 saw me run my first couple of marathons, a couple of 50kms and a 50 miler.  Soon learning that I preferred running out on the trail I moved to Glossop in 2017 on the edge of the Peak District and have been loitering around the hills there ever since.

I was lucky enough to be selected for Men’s Running magazine’s Project Trail feature in 2016 which meant being featured monthly in the mag and, best of all, training from Team GB Ultrarunner Robbie Britton.  I’ve picked up a huge amount of tips on training, nutrition and mental preparation to help me through any of my future races.

The Project Trail experience ignited a passion for writing about running and I’ve since had a few race reports published in print for Men’s Running magazine.  This has led to reviewing running gear and I’m currently part of the RunUltra reviewing team, so have regular pieces published on their site.

This has gradually built up, so I keep a record of all of the pieces I’ve had published to date on my Writing CV

I’m also hoping to gain a few more skills so completed a Silver NNAS Navigation course in May 2017 and enjoy practicing around the hills local to Glossop.
